The release of Robert Redford's film "A Walk in the Woods", based on the best-selling novel (under the same name) by Bill Bryson, marked a historic event for the Appalachian Trail and the Conservancy.
As the UX/UI designer, developer and page author, I created a microsite that blended the movie's promotional style with the established ATC brand. The resulting site leveraged both entities and not only promoted the film but to also educated hikers in order to mitigate the potential increased impact on the physical trail.
The site featured a clean design and straightforward content. Through social media integration and an ability to "share your story," I created an experience that brought the user closer to the Trail and through the shared personal connection, a desire to protect this national treasure.
